It Pays to be Naughty for a Nice Cause

We came, we saw, we pubcrawled. And why wouldn't we? 12 bars, 5 free drinks, naughty santas, elves, reindeer, and christmas trees- yes, you can make christmas trees naughty. Hundreds of crawlers to celebrate the holidays despite the 80 degree weather. Heat and lack of snow doesn't stop the festivities for those dedicated to a good cause. Replacing the usual cover fee was an option for crawlers to either give up the cold, hard cash, or some Toys for Tots.

You would think that heat and holidays don't mix, especially around this time of the year. I mentioned the lack of snow earlier...and that wasn't entirely true. Stop number two on the crawl (or was it three or four?) featured snow covered mountains and elk- at the Lodge. They pulled out all the stops to provide a true "white christmas" for those of us south of the snow storms. The girls and boys of Wall St., Church St., and Orange Ave.  were all quite festive as well with drink specials arranged by the best party organizers that ever did exist, the men, the legends...the OPC guys.

As if the costumes and crazy antics weren't enough, hearing some of your naughty and nice lists was pretty entertaining too. Check out the video to see which crawlers are getting coal in their stockings. Pretty much all of you are doomed. Good luck with that, I'm off to do some last minute shopping. Happy crawling, see you Wednesday for my favorite night of the week, Ladies Night.

Ever Wandered??!!

It is Wednesday night, Hump Day, and to the OCB, there is no other way to celebrate this special day, then with a night out on the town!  LaToya and I started our Wednesday night wandering on

Church Street
, looking for the hot spots and the coolest crowds.  Here are some of the highlights:

Mako’s - Bead throwing, shots flowing and whistles blowing, need I say more?

Dragon Room –The dark reddish tones and ocean-blue bar draws a great crowd looking for a good time or just to unwind from a long day.

23 – Best remixes to your favorite songs, which had the crowd dancing the night away!

We also ran into some of our fellow Shock Squaders out having a good time. (Note:  If the Shock Squaders are hanging out on a Wednesday downtown, you should be too!)

Vintage - Trendy and hip, plus offers free drinks for the ladies until midnight (We couldn’t go wrong with that?)

Club Element – It’s great to be female and in a group for Element!  They were offering free bottles to ladies, attracting Orlando’s hottest men and women!

BackBooth – Eighties are Greaties!!  We Rolled up our sleeves and teased our hair for '80s new wave dance night. BackBooth attracted a large crowd with one thing in common; they love 80’s music and style.

Zinc Bar – Trendy, Hip and full of drink specials…love it!!

Bliss – Yes!  Another ladies night!  Free admission and drinks for ladies.   (Not going to lie, we ended the night here.)

Ok, so lets recap… in one night we hit up Mako’s, Dragon Room, 23, Element, Backbooth, Zinc Bar, and finally Bliss…whew what a night!  Be sure to check out where we will be this weekend by clicking on O-Lens.  I know you all will be getting your football fix this weekend, but before you do, check out the food and drink specials at your local sports bars in the resturants and bars/clubs section of the CityBeat site.  In addition, remember to wear your UCF Knights colors this Saturday at the home opener.

Until Next time

Summer in the City

You're too late, it's over, the end. You missed summer. Along with that, if you weren't at the Metropolitan on the corner of Washington and Rosalind downtown, you missed a summer staple as well, also known as Chill Sundays. A picture's worth a thousand words, so check out the photo gallery for visuals of some hot bodies in bathing suits, but for those of you who prefer stories, read on...

Across from Lake Eola and up a flight of stairs that only a sober person could love, hides a huge pool, dozens of lounge chairs, at least three bars, a makeshift hair studio, a professional photographer snapping pictures (Jacob from Picture the Night makes a weekly appearance, and was kind enough to let Amelia and I flash on his turf) and enough blowup toys to make Fairvilla proud. Add anywhere from 50-150 people, and you've got yourself Chill Sundays, aka the Metropolitan's weekly summer pool party. Fortunately or not, the blowup toys were giant beach chairs, balls, and pool floats, but they were put to good use while live acts and a DJ entertained the masses who were waiting in line at the bar. If lounging poolside listening to music is too low key for you, several cabanas had their own mini parties, and Ego Lab, the downtown salon and retail store was there to make sure everyone stayed looking hot. The last pool party of the summer also featured a Miss Hawaiian Tropic bikini contest. I'll leave that to your imagination.

Though you have to wait an entire year to catch all the fun you missed at Chill Sundays, put it on your calendar now. To pass the time until then, of course, look out for the OCB Shock Squad flashing at Orlando's other hot spots.  You can also visit Ego Lab to get your hair did and pick up a wardrobe change for when you can't make it another step in those uncomfortable 5" heels- they're open late on the weekends, and of course, check out O-Lens for video and photos from the last chill Sunday of '07. Catch me and the rest of OCB tomorrow at UCF- FREE STUFF, FREE STUFF, FREE STUFF! We'll be by the SGA courtyard from 9- noon giving away some goodies. XOXO- Dina

Pepto Overdose!

Or perhaps everyone dropped a red sock in with their whites.  No no the truth is it was the pink pub crawl and there was a pink explosion downtown.  Now everytime there is a pubcrawl you gotta wonder to what extent are people going to take the theme.  There was pretty in pink, 80's pink, rock star pink, cowboy pink and then there was the bizarre.  Im talking randomness on top of randomness.  There were pink cats and rabbits.  There were male pink ballerinas.....refer to pictures for that one.  There was even pink underwear over pants to be seen.  All in all though that is the fun of the pub crawl, seeing how people will take the theme on, and the best outfits include those people who embrace the theme by its big old horns.  The hardest part is trying to find somebody when you loose them in the crowd....good luck cuz everyone is going to be wearing pink!  Talk to the people about whats going on in Orlando and everyone agrees that the whole stalker astronaut topic is so old and its time to move on. Anywho if you dont go out often and you want to gaurantee that when you do go out its the time of your life...then schedule yourself for a pub crawl cuz thats what the doctor ordered.  Its fool proof.  Check out the awesome video and of course the pictures are fantabulous.  Till the next flash....Amelia aka Crazy

Save a Horse, Drive to Cowboy's

Without a doubt, one of the friendliest, fun-loving crowds can be found line dancing the night away at Cowboys on Saturday nights. Each week of the month is a different theme, with two crowd pleasing events for the ladies and two for the guys. Amelia and I weren't lucky enough to be there for the Boots 'n Bachelor contest (we made it for Miss Rocky Mountain), but it was a blast all the same.

The parking lot at Cowboy's, in case you've never been, is enough to send a city girl high tailing it back to the Big Apple. Pick up trucks with wheels and rims bigger then my entire car, authentic cowboy hats in the window, and tricked out motorcyles- confusing, to say the least- packed the lot before our 10pm arrival. It's definitely different from any downtown bar you've ever seen. Nevertheless, I braved my way through the country crowds with Amelia and Dewberry to see what goes down on Saturday nights.

Once inside, if you have to wait more than two minutes to get a drink, you were definitely already cut off by the bartenders, my drunken stumbling friend. There are at least five bars, both inside and out of the place, and plenty of pool tables, swings (of the non-Makos variety), and drink specials for those of us not skilled at country western dancing.

I love flashing as much as the next girl (who keeps her Shock Squad shirt on, that is), but Cowboy's definitely had the most willing participants. Whether we were taking pictures or asking about tricked out trucks (which appear on the new www.Enginehead.com site), everyone was more than willing to help out. If you're ever in need of a change from the standard routine, I suggest checking out Cowboy's for some old fashioned country hospitality. Just try to go early or avoid the dance floor if you're not familiar with the choreography... we learned the hard way. See you this weekend for some Salsa dancing at Club Mambo. XOXO- Dina

White Out

We've roughed it dressed in 80s gear, as pirate wenches, donned our Shock Squad T's (And deal with the drunken insults that come along with those), but this time, it was time for OCB's costume clowns to class it up. Yes, I called us the c word- classy. Amelia and I dressed in all, or mostly white, in my case, for the Guys With Ties 2nd Annual White party at 23 benefiting the American Heart and Stroke Associations.

Those guys and their ties throw one helluva party for one helluva good cause. The club was jam packed, and the line went around the block so long, people waiting were actually getting pizza at Gino's because their spot was that close. Though we were tempted, Amelia and I braved the crowd and bypassed the food, hitting up the bar to flash and find out how to stay all white by night's end.

23 is an upscale, upstairs bar that has a great rooftop area, along with balcony access so you can wave to friends and fellow drunks down on Church St. Teaming up with Guys with Ties was a great idea, and for future reference, I recommend any event thrown or attended by them. They're dressed up, classy, and fun. Oh, and they do it all for various good causes. Here's their Web site: http://www.guyswithties.org/orlando/index.html

Check them out, and check us out on O-LENS for pictures and videos from the event. XOXO- Dina

Time Travel ....

Thats right, yours truly, Amelia and Dina, have discovered how to time travel. Want to know the secret?  Its called the 80's Pub Crawl.  Why the 80's you ask? Because its so friggin classic!!!  I mean from the leg warmers, gold chains, music, all the way down to the outrageous hair how can you go wrong? You cant!  We started out at Slingapours worked our way to the Lodge, club 39, and some Independent Bar.  All along the way we had those classic 80's jams to rock out to.  Some people downtown were trying to figure out what happened because over 500 people showed up for this gnarley pub crawl.  Thank you Cameron for another unforgetable experience.  Although by the end of the night with all the free drinks and the drink specials some of us were not remembering everything. I myself got so distracted that I stopped in at the EgoLab where my girl Rosie Perez (yes like the actress) hooked me up with an up do to stand up to the humidity.  If you reference the pictures at this point you will notice my hair was down and straight and magically went to up and curly.  I left EgoLab all rocked out to head to the last spot which was Antigua. All in all it was a great night that will hold a special place in my heart (at least till the next pub crawl).  At this point if you havent caught on pub crawls are an awesome friggin time, so get with it and join in. Dont forget to check out the awesome pics and catch some great video from that night.  Till the next flash Orlando.....

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

It was newbie night for the Shock Squad, with Amelia and I showing the lovely Latoya around town, starting at Hush on Universal. Behind Wet and Wild, out by all the fun touristy traffic times, is a strip of hot clubs that are actually all about the locals. At Hush, our first stop of the evening, the decor is upscale, with leather booths, swanky VIP sections, friendly staff, and of course, stripper poles in the main room. I'm counting the last mention as a more of a training tool. The managers, bartenders, security and promoters showed us some love- check out the video for tips on the best nights to go and what to look for.

We also spent some time with the crowd outside the door waiting to get in. The guys and girls were all too willing to get flashed, and showed us their stuff too. Dirty. We <3 it. Going with the theme of the night, and the blog, the troublesome threesome headed downtown to flash some of our regulars. We hit up Dragon Room, which was so packed we had difficulty getting our flash on. Gotta have enough space to do it right folks, so we moved on further down the road.

On the corner of Pine and Orange is an art gallery known as the CityArts Factory. Not only do they display some of the city's finest, they were hosting more of the same Saturday night. Mel's Bad Girls Club was holding their prom to raise money for BASE Camp for Kids Cancer Foundation. The bad girls did a helluva lotta good and looked amazing while doing it. Check out the Shock Squad photo gallery for more.

OCB is doing the college crawl tomorrow night. Look for our girls and guy down at Liquid Cellar/Library area tomorrow. On Saturday, you'll find Amelia, Pinkee (Initiation to come, stay tuned) and I in our leggings, slap bracelets and pointy bras for the 80's Pubcrawl. See you then!! XOXO- Dina

Hot Glo in the Night

Hot Import Nights after party at Glo Lounge was poppn' like never before.  We checked out the show at the Convention Center and then partied like rockstars.  The drinks were flowing, the outfits were hot, and the music was pumping.  We hung out with the awesome bartenders who were pouring drinks like their lives depended on it (reference the group shot).  DJ Chino and company kept the crowd going with everything from hip hop to reggae, if you werent happy your too picky!!  Many of the patrons were there to represent the different car clubs in the area and were talking about the show from earlier in the night.  Not to mention the very many hot girls that were there to showcase the cars and some other assets (wink, wink).  Good times were had and if you didnt come we will let it slide this time but next time we expect to see you out there no excuses.  Look for us at Trivia night in One Eyed Jacks and elsewhere on Wednesday.  Till the next Flash you all!!!!!!  Dont be afraid to say hi! Or smile for that matter....

Trials and Triv-ulations

I normally have a strict schedule I like to keep when partaking in social activities. This week however, duty called and I changed it up a bit. Heading off with my counterpart Amanda in search of some trivia buffs at One Eyed Jacks, we discovered that trivia, like most other things at Wall St., is second to liquor and lovin'.

Trivia is definitely more entertaining when liquor is involved. Work crowds stick around post happy hour to team up against friends and foes for Curtis Earth Trivia. Though the game was quite intense, the crowd didn't mind some hump day flashing and gladly posed for photos.

Not wanting to interrupt for too long, we wandered the rest of Wall St. and snapped some photos of the birthday celebrations going on at Slingapours, The Globe, Waitiki, Cantina, and the Loaded Hog. Once our street walking was complete, the folks at Chillers, Latitudes, and Big Belly Brewery were kind enough to let us flash them as well.

A few stalkerish photo subjects even followed our crew around downtown and had their own mini photo shoots (cough cough Stephanie, Troy, and Ben). Sadly, their 15 minutes of fame will have to continue another night, because these Shock Squaders had to get going. We'll be at it again soon enough though. Stop by Hush this weekend if you want to get flashed. XOXO- Dina
